~
Since the launch of my book, Groundswell: Stories of Saving Places, Finding Community ( Trust for Public Land , 2005), I have been helping groups, agencies and communities to realize their passions and goals, improving the quality of life where they live, work and visit. These days I am most excited about the energy that flourishes at the intersection of projects that encompass conservation, economy, community development, arts & heritage and social justice. The city of Biddeford, Maine, is well into realizing a big project like this that we have worked on for several years.
Through Groundswell , and now in a similar writing project on an international scale, I have come to appreciate how people all over the world want to make a difference where they live and work—shaping the future of the places they love. But some of these initiatives allow blocks of time “in between,” and I am interested in broadening my efforts. My strength lies in helping communities, organizations and other clients to discover the best ways to solve problems, to encourage others to join them, and to transform their dreams into reality.
